Front Page News

Original Front Page Notice (removed Jan 10th 2010)

After many months research, I'm pleased to announce that the most extensive U's archive is now on the website.

This site will detail every player to have worn the famous blue and white stripes, every fixture played in every first team competion, and (eventually) every opposition team line-up.

This is the first in four planned websites. I'm hoping to put together a day-by-day account of U's life (Now online at www.coludaybyday.co.uk), a history by opponents, and afinal website packed full of every statistics or list you could want.

There are many U's books on the history of the club and this website is not supposed to be a substitute to them. Indeed, I would advocate you take a look at the Bibliography section of the site and purchase those books for your own library. This site will hopefully be a living history however to all those who have worn the Blue and white stripes.

This site is non-commercial however, as with many sites there are out-of-pocket expenses which I currently undertaking. If anyone would like to contribute / sponsor the website, then please contact me.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thanks a few people: Andy Crockett whose early work on the match spreadsheet helped out enormously; to the webmasters of swindon-town.co.uk and In the Mad Crowd who proved the inspiration behind this site; to Colchester United for their help and assistance in the past and the future, to all the Colchester United historians and writers who have published books on the club; and finally, to my family for putting up with me over the last few years!
